Wedding Rehearsal Speech or Toast

Opening Greeting to Guests...

Amy and I would like to welcome you to our rehearsal dinner this evening.
I feel grateful to finally be able to relax a bit...
The good news is, I did not faint in the Church during the rehearsal and because of that fact, Matt, you owe me twenty dollars...


This evening we want to be certain that all of you know how much we appreciate the gift of your friendship and love.
And, we want you to know that it means a lot to Amy and I that you are here with us to share in this occasion. 

After all, what good is a celebration without your family and friends? 
And, more to the point, how could we possibly consume all this food and alcohol by ourselves?...now, we might like to try...but it just wouldn't be the same.

Families today are anything but "traditional" and no one knows that more than we do.
Our marriage will be a union of two families - extended in the true sense of that word.
What we do know is that all families begin with parents...

Today Amy and I have had a minor disagreement. You see, Amy believes her parents are actually the best parents in the world. And yet, I know for certain that mine are. However, I think it is a good omen for our life together that we have simply agreed to disagree on this one point. 
I'd like to believe that this will be the only point of contention in our years to come, but that might be a bit optimistic, even for us.

We know that on our wedding day you will all toast us and wish us a happy future together.

However, tonight we would like to toast you - our families and friends...
We want to tell you how much you mean to us...
